Cast: Yu Yang, Yang Yaqin, Gao Bo, Kang Tai, Jin Limin Synopsis: Following the founding of the New China, in pursuit of independent national defense development, the nation embarked on the design and construction of a new class of vessel: the "Haiying." However, an explosion occurred during sea trials; consequently, the shipyard director advocated for abandoning the project in favor of relying on the Soviet-supplied "Feiyu." Feng Tao, the newly appointed Secretary of the Work Committee, remained steadfast in his commitment to independence and self-reliance, resolving to press ahead with the development of the "Haiying." Throughout this process, he was compelled to contend not only with internal dissent but also with the sabotage and obstruction orchestrated by foreign powers.
